tea cups and roses…

August 20, 2009

i’m not sure how on earth there are so many talented and creative people out there.  but this was recently featured on 100 layer cake.

Mimi of Mika78, a wedding stationary shop, teamed up with Bryn of PaperFinger, to create this absolutely amazing bridal showers for one of her friends.100lc_diymika-78paperfinger1

Since her friend and bridesmaids planned an afternoon tea party for the bridal shower at a cute restaurant in the West Village, Mimi decided to scour the city’s vintage flea markets for weeks looking for the perfect tea cups and napkins to incorporate into her design for an invite to the shower.

Bryn wrote a bunch of different messages on the teacups using a gold pen. to incorporate theme, Bryn also included a quote the bride used in her invitations.  and Mimi also included tea bags with little handmade tea tags in each guest gift. 100lc_diymika-78paperfinger3

but in addition to all of this, the best and most creative idea was that Mimi made little fill-in-the-blank notes for guests to give to the bride at the shower. each guest read their’s aloud at the shower which resulted in an fabulous way to not only get to know the bride’s friends and family a little better, but also allowed each woman to reflect on her own friendship with the bride-to-be. at the very end, Mimi collected each note and put them into a scrapbook for the bride.   such a fabulous and cute cute idea!

so the end result for the invite was this…

that is one lucky bride to have a friend like Mimi.  i’m jealous.
